Abnormal tissue growth in the male breast or GYNECOMASTIA can occur at any age. The most common causes are: hormonal changes, obesity, genetic and certain drugs use. It may bring about aesthetic perception issues and low self-esteem; patients might avoid physical activities, social and intimate relationships. The main anatomic alterations consist of excessive fatty tissue, glandular overgrowth and flabby skin.

Both aesthetic perception and emotional problems related to this condition are avoided.
Thorax shape and definition are notoriously improved after resection of the abnormal tissue.
Asymmetries can be corrected.
Provides a better body balance and self-esteem.

It is an ambulatory surgery, done under sedation and local and / or regional anesthesia.
It lasts 1 – 2 h aprox.
Depending on the amount of tissue present, the procedure can be done with liposuction and/or surgical removal of the abnormal tissue.
